Nathalie Schott was born in Mainz, Germany in 1978. After finishing school she went to Munich to enroll at the Bayerische Theaterakademie in 1999. In 2000, she changed her major from musical theater to drama, which she completed in 2004 with a Diploma in Dramatic Arts. During her time at the Theaterakademie she was cast in the play Der Vater at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel under the direction of Thomas Langhoff. Right after this she went on to join the ensemble of Aachen’s municipal theater for two seasons and numerous roles. Since 2005 Nathalie Schott has been working as a freelance actress for musical as well as classical theater in productions at the Hamburger Kammerspiele, Altonaer Theater, Theater Ingolstadt, Metropol Theater München, Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen, and Kammerspiele Landshut. Collaborations with the following directors deserve a special mention: Michael Helle, Thomas Krupa, Gil Mehmert, Jochen Schölch, and Daniela Löffner. Selected roles she played are Zoe Mill in Ab Jetzt, Desdemona in Othello, Amalia in The Robbers, and the leading roles Polly (The Threepenny Opera), Carmen, and Evita. After having appeared in several short films, Nathalie Schott debuted in the role of Sister Ingrid in the ARD TV series Um Himmels Willen. The reason why she was cast in this production was that the casting director had seen something in Nathalie Schott that reminded her of Jeanne D’Arc. I often think of this up to this day because I find that Nathalie Schott is in fact a perfect cast for women that are being glorified for their vigor and pugnaciousness.
